MGB Inspection Service, Inc.  began operation in 2004.  We provide report forms, booklets, brochures, business cards and resource materials for the home inspection industry.  We also develop web sites for home inspectors.

Religious reading material and other books are in development.

About the Author

Michael G. Bryan

Mike was born September 27, 1951 in Washington, DC.

His father, Truman Grove Bryan, served as one of the assistants to the Architect to the United States Capital. As a boy, Mike learned the drawing board with the assistance of his dad. He took classes in High School and College in both Architecture and Engineering. In 1971 he worked for a steel firm as a structural detailer creating shop and field erection drawings. He realized that he couldn’t tolerate being indoors all day and decided to pursue an outdoor trade.

An opportunity was offered to him to learn the masonry trade in 1972, which he accepted. During the next ten years he earned the title of journeyman mason, installing brick, concrete block and stone. He also became an estimator, foreman, sales representative and contract negotiator for several masonry companies.

A position for a sales representative and conceptual project designer for a custom home builder’s additions and renovations division became available to him in 1983. He met with clients and produced the first two phases of preliminary designs for their projects. The last drawing was provided by an architect.

He relocated to Richmond, Virginia in 1989 to open and manage a satellite office of a disaster restoration contracting company. It was his job to assess the damage and scope and cost of repairs to buildings damaged by fire, water, vandalism, etc. He would then manage the restoration of the property. During this time he often was overseeing as many as twenty-five projects at a time dealing with all the subs and scheduling the work.

In 1993, he elected to attend a school for home inspectors. After completion of the school he worked for a home inspection company in Richmond, Virginia where he performed 2800 home inspections. Mike opened his own home inspection company in 1997 and has to date performed over 8800 home inspections in his career.

Mike opened MGB Publications, Inc. in 2003 and began the research and development of a home inspection reporting system called the Guardian Building Inspection System. His writings are based upon his thirty-four years of hands on experience in both residential and commercial construction and home inspections.
